ok, there is just no way i am going to teach a bunch of four year olds how to sing 'my country tis of thee' in french in the next two weeks. this will be the crowning achievement in my life, if i manage it.

teachers love spring break way more than kids. even teacher's assistants.
anyone have a favorite spring break memory?
mine is going to disneyworld when i was ten. that place is so awesome. wish i could go back sometime.

lol ok. so at least my boss is pretty cool. after another two kids got yanked she talked to the parents that pulled her kids out and reminded them that they were the ones who picked my group. apparently one of the kids started talking to french people on the street. and like, lol, the kid hardly knew any french. but the person probably thought she was a cute little girl and apparently had a 'conversation' with her. but i know this kid can speak like, under 25 words of french. so probably the person was just being nice to the kid. anyway the mom flipped out or something. she thought i was teaching beyond what was in my outline.
dontcha love it when people just make assumptions?
anyway now that its pretty cleared up, three of the four are back in my group. that original mother cant handle humble pie. and all i had to do was promise to teach more patriotic sayings in french.
lol.

i get that people are seriously xenophobic. but i think its pretty crappy to not want your kid to learn french because of your fears. i mean, god. its good cognitive development.
but i guess a lot of parents think that teaching xenophobia > better cognitive development.
two students got pulled out of my arts and crafts group today because their parents freaked out when they were saying oui.
